The Restoration Church of Jesus Christ used a broad scripture collection that drew from both the LDS Church and Community of Christ traditions. Its accepted scriptures included the Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, the Pearl of Great Price, and The Hidden Treasures and Promises.
The Bible was officially used in the King James Version, though other Bible translations were also accepted. The Book of Mormon was used in the LDS Church edition rather than the Community of Christ edition.
The church accepted both the LDS Church and Community of Christ editions of the Doctrine and Covenants. This made its Doctrine and Covenants usage unusual, since most Latter Day Saint branches use one edition or the other. The church accepted both because it held that God could speak to different denominations.
The Pearl of Great Price was also part of the church’s scripture collection. This placed the Restoration Church of Jesus Christ closer to the LDS Church on that point than most RLDS-derived branches, which usually do not canonize the Pearl of Great Price.
The Hidden Treasures and Promises was a book of modern revelations used by the church. Members said the revelations were given through the president of the church and other leaders. It functioned as the church’s own branch-specific revelation collection.
